PF cadres clash with security as they search for Fr. Bwalya

Ruling Patriotic Front cadres are reported to have stormed and clashed with security at Levy Junction Shopping Mall in Lusaka in their search for outspoken Catholic Priest Fr. Frank Bwalya.

According to Muvi Television News monitored Friday evening by Zambian Eye, the cadres stormed the Mall after they got a tip that Fr. Bwalya was spotted in the area. The cadres quickly rushed to the Shopping Mall and while there had a confrontation with the Mall security guards.

The Muvi TV crew who filmed the fracas had their camera grabbed in the process by the cadres who thereafter erased the footage from the tape.

The situation was only calmed by Police officers from Lusaka Central Police Station. Two cadres were arrested but later released.

The cadres have vowed to continue searching for Fr. Bwalya so they can sort him out for what they claim ‘denouncing their party and President.’

On Wednesday, May 1, 2013 the cadres publicly announced that they will not seat and watch Fr. Bwalya criticize the PF. They vowed to look for him.
