PAC wants report on unfinished works at Kasaba Bay airport

PAC has directed the Department of Civil Aviation (DCA) under the Ministry of Transport and Communications to re-submit a fresh report regarding the uncompleted works at Kasaba Bay airport where government has spent over K50 billion (Kr50 million) through Ng’andu Consulting Limited.

And Auditor General Anna Chifungula says her officers found it difficult to understand why Ng’andu Consulting was paid the amount when it is not the main contractor of the project.

Appearing before the Public Accounts Committee (PAC) chaired by Chipangali MMD member of parliament Vincent Mwale, DCA acting director Adam Daka, who was flanked by his permanent secretaries Julius Shawa and Muyenga Atanga, said Ng’andu Consulting were the project managers engaged to design and supervise the works.
