Opposition plot exposed..Manoeuvres to discredit Zambia laid bare

Government has exposed a plot by three opposition leaders allegedly working with former President Rupiah Banda to spearhead the suspension of Zambia from the Commonwealth based on unfounded accusations.
Chief Government spokesperson Kennedy Sakeni said Government was aware of a ‘paid for’ Press conference held in Rosebank, South Africa, yesterday.
The Press conference, Mr Sakeni said, was addressed by United Party for National Development (UPND) leader Hakainde Hichilema, MMD’s Nevers Mumba and Sakwiba Sikota of the United Liberal Party (ULP).
The Government has since challenged Mr Banda to come out clean over yesterday’s Press conference in South Africa.
“During this ‘paid—for’ Press conference, the so-called opposition leaders accused this Government of, among other things, harassing, intimidating and attacking members of the opposition, that His Excellency, Mr Michael Sata is trying to enforce a one-party State.
