Opposition Alliance presidents meet

Leaders of  the newly formed Opposition Alliance (OA) held a closed door meeting Thursday, February 13, 2014 in Lusaka.

Spokesperson Fr. Frank Bwalya confirmed saying the meeting which lasted for three hours was attended by Movement for Multiparty Democracy (MMD) president Dr Nevers Mumba, People’s Party (PP) president Mike Mulongoti, himself as president of Alliance for a Better Zambia (ABZ) and Zambians for Empowerment and Development (ZED) president Dr Fred Mutesa.

“The meeting which was chaired by General Malimba Masheke discussed a range of issues including formation of the technical committee and supporting one another in by-elections,” said Fr. Bwalya.

He said the meeting also discussed a number of issues regarding strengthening the OA as well as activities to keep growing the momentum of the alliance.

Fr. Bwalya said the OA has also started planning the launch of the alliance.
