Opinion: A Shame List of PF Bigots

President Michael Sata’s appointment of women to leadership positions on face value appears a noble undertaking but a quick scan through his Zambia police appointees makes sad reading.

Madam Stella Libongani, the Inspector General of Police may have tossed up a few bottles of champagne at her appointment but months through her dream job, the good old lady may not want to look back to the day she was appointed for the shame it brings on her every day orders are funneled to her office.

Under Libongani, Zambians who have historically fought so hard to embrace a democratic culture, have had most of their civil liberties suspended. One only needs to look at the police conduct as regards the Public Order Act.
