Operations paralyzed at Solwezi Hospital, no Student Nurses

Operations have been paralyzed at Solwezi General Hospital after Unionized Nurses joined other Nurses countrywide who have gone on strike rejecting the 4% salary increment by government.

General Hospital Public Relations Officer Levy Muna has confirmed the development in an interview that the Nurses who have been working have also joined the strike today, October 8, 2013.

“As you are ware nurses have gone on strike rejecting the 4% salary increment made by government” Muna said.

Muna revealed that the strike has paralyzed the operations at the biggest Hospital in North Western province. He said only three Nurses are working adding that student nurses who could have helped are in the Community.

The Hospital’s Public Relations Officer said he hopes government will address the situation urgently to normalize the operations at the Health Hospital.
