No more protests against Kabimba – PF’s Chikwelete

Robert Chikwelete a man spearheading the demonstrations demanding for the resignation of General Secretary Wynter Kabimba has said the ruling Patriotic Front cadres will no longer stage protests in the central districts.

Chikwelete who has been appointed as PF Lusaka district chairman by President Michael Sata on Tuesday during the demonstrations said the PF cadres will not stop protests until Kabimba steeps down.

The demonstration match held in the main streets of Lusaka disturbed business in the city as the cadres blocked the Roads halting traffic.

But Chikelete today assured that the cadres will now convene a meeting of Districts and Provincial leaders to find a lasting solution to the problem. Chikelete has assured Lusaka residents that the cadres will not go ahead with the protests but engage their leaders.

Vice President Guy Scott on September 25, 2013 condemned the cadres move to continue protesting disturbing business in the city. Dr. Scott said the behavior was unacceptable and urged the cadres to follow the right procedure in airing their grievances.

Kabimba has charged that a clique of tribalists within PF including Sports Minister Chishimba Kambwili were behind the protests to hound him out of the party. He said he had come to realize that PF was more tribal than other parties they accuse.
