Narep fields Njobvu for Mpongwe by-election

NATIONAL Restoration Party (NAREP) has decided to field businessman Mason Njobvu in the Mpongwe by-election.

And UPND Copperbelt chairman Elisha Matambo has promised violence in the Mpongwe by-election should any party provoke them.

In an interview yesterday, Njobvu said he was confident of winning the by-election because he was the most popular candidate among the four for the seat.

MMD is fielding Miniva Mutesa, UPND is fielding Loveson Chilufya while PF is yet to announce its candidate, but it is anticipated that Gabriel Namulambe, who caused the by-election by resigning from MMD, is likely to be considered.

“I am the only person who can deliver; that is why people have confidence in me. The former MP Gabriel Namulambe is not a factor, the only reason he decided to create a by-election in Mpongwe is because he wants to cover up his court cases. He has failed to deliver and he has robbed Mpongwe people of their dignity; that man is a bad person,” Njobvu said.
