Motorists stranded in Monze as town runs out of fuel

Monze town in Southern province has run out of fuel forcing motorists to park their cars.

A check by Zambian Eye Thursday evening found a number of cars parked in long queues at Mobile Service Filling Station which had the commodity earlier in the day. Some motorists found at the Filling station told Zambian Eye that the town have had no fuel for two days, a situation that almost sparked a riot on Wednesday afternoon.

Some motorists just parked their cars in a queue and left hoping the Filling Station will have the Commodity on Friday morning. Passersby who were hoping to refuel in Monze got stuck and were also forced to park their cars.

“This is pathetic! How do I proceed now,” an angry motorists was head complaining.

Meanwhile some vendors have taken advantage of the situation by going to by buying the commodity in neighbouring towns – Mazabuka and Chisekesi then resale at exorbitant price to stranded motorists. The vendors had also run out of the fuel Thursday evening.
