The opposition Movement for Multiparty democracy has dismissed allegations from the Patriotic Front Government that its former president Rupiah Banda ran the most corrupt Government in the country.

Party president Dr.Nevers Mumba told the Zambian Eye in in an interview in Lusaka today February 8, 2013 that Chief Government spokesperson Kennedy Sakeni assumed those allegations in an effort to divert attention from the corruption in the Patriotic Front (PF) Government to that of the MMD.

He said it was unfair for the ruling party to attar such allegations when there was enough proof about some senior PF officials in that party being corrupt.

He has since advised the PF Government to concentrate on fighting the corruption in its Government instead of living in denial and transferring its own corruption to that of the former rulling party.

Meanwhile Mumba has said he is going to lobby for expelled MMD  national secretary, Richard Kachingwe to be reinstated to the MMD.

Mumba said if Kachingwe humbles himself and seeks audience with him then he can find a way of talking to the other members to accept him back in the party.

He said Kachingwe is not the first person to be disciplined or expelled from the party adding that a number of high profile individuals also face such disciplinary actions.

He said what Kachingwe and the other people who had formed the MMD faction did was fueled by the PF and the sooner Kachingwe realized that he was just being used the better for him.
