Christopher Yaluma, the Minister of Mines, Energy and Water Development has been dragged to court for alleged failure to settle over K480, 000 which is K480 Million old currency for accommodation at the luxurious Fallsway Apartments in Lusaka.

A law suit filed in Lusaka High Court states that the Minister spent 203 nights between June 2012 and March 2013 accruing K488, 980 rental fees.

The plaintiff, Vali’s Properties Limited a company engaged in accommodation and hospitality services says despite several reminders the Minister did not honour and has since been forced to take legal action.

The company is asking the Court to order the Minister to settle the bill and also wants to be paid damages for breach of agreement for payment of bills, interest , costs and any other relief the court may deem fit.

The statement of claim has been filed before the High Court Principal Registry.
