Inspiring, Zambian-born Economics Prof. Killion Munyama who was elected Poland’s Member of Parliament on October 9th, 2011, a new milestone in his adopted country which has a tiny black community.

“Killion Munyama won a seat in the polls, held just two days after he turned 50. Munyama stood in a rural constituency near the northwestern City of Pila for the governing centrist Civic Platform, which has become the first incumbent party to won a second term since the 1989 demise of Poland’s communist regime.”

He holds PhD in Economics, Poznan University of Economics, Poznan, Poland, 1994 M.A in Economics, Poznan University of Economics, Poznan, Poland, 1987 and a higher Doctor of Science (Sc.D) degree (Latin: Scientiæ Doctor).

Born in Southern Province, Zambia of native parents, he relocated to Poland in 1981 to study Economics and has been living there for three decades. Killion, the second black man of African descent to be elected to Parliament in Poland after Nigerian-born John Godson, said the presence of Poland in most African countries was so little and vice versa.

“I want to try and use the capabilities that I will have to encourage relationship between Poland and Zambia, and Africa in general,” he says.
