The Movement for Multiparty Democracy [MMD] has accused Home Affairs Minister Edgar Lungu of altering the information of the Party’s records at the Registrar of Societies.

Speaking in an interview with the Zambian Eye in Lusaka today January 31 2013, MMD President Nevers Mumba’s spokesperson Raphael Nakachinda said the Ruling party connived with expelled MMD National Secretary Major Richard Kachingwe and former Registrar of Societies boss Clement Andeleki to have the information about the party’s leaders changed.

Nakachinda said the aim of the PF in this was so that they could divide and rule the MMD but they will not succeed because the party is too strong to be brought down.

The Spokesperson said Lungu tried to use Andeleki when he was strategically placed at the Registrar of Societies to deregister the MMD but failed because he was too small for a big party like the MMD.

He said that it was wishful thinking for Lungu to think he could threaten the MMD with dissolution because that would never happen.

He called on the members of his party to stand strong and defend their party telling them not to be influenced by a few selfish individuals who wanted to destroy the party.
