CHIPATA Catholic Diocese treasurer general Fr Richard Chiyanjano Phiri says the world would be a better place to live in if the love that is expressed in songs and films were real.
Delivering his sermon during Mass at St Anne’s Cathedral yesterday, Fr Phiri said there were many expressions of love in the world which were not real.
“When you stop and reflect about what life is today in the world, you see so many expressions about love. There is a lot that happens nowadays in the name of love. If the love that is in most songs that we listen to today and in most of the films that we watch was to be real, I think the world would have been a better place to live in. If love was to be understood in the words of today’s (Sunday’s) gospel, the world would have been paradise,” he said.
Fr Phiri said Christ was inviting people to love one another even in pain.
He said love calls for some sacrifice.
