Liwewe urges Chipolopolo to have spirit of AFCON 2012 this Friday

A renown soccer analyst Ponga Liwewe says  it Friday’s 2014 group D qualifier match would  be an extremely difficult match to win for Zambia.

Liwewe explains that  this is because Ghana ‘s Black Stars are an experienced team and know what it means to play at the world cup. He says that as a result  of this mission on the back of their minds, the Black Stars will do everything possible to get there again.

ZANIS Sports reports that Liwewe said from his base in Johannesburg in a press query, today.

“Having said that, Zambia go there knowing that only a win will suffice. There are several options,” he said.

The first option he said is for the Chipolopolos to sit back in numbers and try to counter attack and get a goal on the break.

Alternatively, the Herve Renard tutored side will have to take the game to Ghana and attack. He said he was of the view that the Chipolopolos should on Friday use a mixture of both.

He advised the team to start the game  with caution because they ( the Black Stars ) will be looking for an early goal to kill us off.

“As the game progresses we should push forward more. In the second half if it is still nil nil we then go for broke and attack in search of the goal we need,” he said.

At this point, he said , the Chipolopolos will have to take risks which will demand that every Zambian player giving in everything on Friday. He said there is no room for the faint hearted. The spirit of Africa Cup 2012 has to return.

He said has not seen it since the Chipolopolos beat Cote d’Ivoire to lift the continental cup for the first time.
