LCC announces plan of cleaning markets & bus stations

The Lusaka City Council (LCC) has announced a plan to close Bus Stations and Markets in the City at least once a month for cleaning.

Lusaka Mayor Daniel Chisenga said these public places will remain closed for thorough cleaning.

He said this is aimed at keeping these places clean under the programme of keeping the city clean and green.

Chisenga said this at a Keep Lusaka Initiative Forum in Ngombe Township on Tuesday July 30,2013.

The Mayor has however warned that places that will not follow the plan risk being closed permanently.

And Foxdale Court of Roma has named two of its buildings after first republican President Kenneth Kaunda and his late wife Mama Betty.

Lusaka this month (July) celebrated a centenary (100 years existance) with the Mayor calling on residents to go back to the plan and re-develop Lusaka as a garden City.
