Kalabo runs out of Coins

The business community in Kalabo district of Western Province  has complained of serious shortage of the newly introduced coins currency in circulation in the district.

Kalabo Merchants Association Spokesperson Samuel Masiye disclosed to the Zambia News and information Services(ZANIS) in Kalabo.

Masiye said there was a serious shortage of both one kwacha and fifty ngwee coins in circulation in Kalabo resulting into businessmen forcing customers to unintentionally buy small items whenever change was not available.

He said the mechants in Kalabo were fully using the new currency except for the disappointing part on the coins that are a shortfall in circulation.

Masiye has appealed to relevant authorities to quickly move in and address this plight.
