Embattled PF Secretary General, Wynter Kabimba has been accused of being behind the maneuvers to form a new party using parallel structures in the PF, reports ZNBC.

This has been revealed by Lameck Kamalo the Interim President of the 4th Republic Party who has since quit his position.

Mr. Kamalo has revealed that he formed the party to promote Zambia as a federal state on the instruction of Patriotic Front (PF) Secretary General Wynter Kabimba and his Assistant Secretary General, Sikwindi Situla.

In his letter of resignation dated 9th October 2013 to Mr. Situla and copied to Mr. Kabimba, Mr. Kamelo has thanked them for their trust in his ability to mobilize and champion the cause.

Mr. Kamalo has stated that the two senior officials were using the 4th Republic as a vehicle to create parallel party structures from the Patriotic Front and emerge as a strong party before 2016.

Mr Kamalo has expressed surprise that those involved in creating parallel structures are now afraid to come out in the open and defend the activities that were being done openly by the two officials.

Last month, some district commissioners disclosed that Mr. Kabimba had urged them to support him and be willing to vacate their positions if he was expelled.

But Mr Situla has denied ever forming the Fourth Republic Party. He says the allegations are coming from people with an agenda only known to themselves.

Mr Situla says he will issue a comprehensive statement at a later stage.
