Its pay back time for MMD, says UPND

The United Party for National Development (UPND) says the former ruling party, the Movement for Multi Party Democracy (MMD) is now paying back for the wrongs it did while in power when it was poaching its Members of Parliament (MP).

UPND Deputy  Secretary General Kuchunga Simusamba said the MMD did the same thing of poaching UPND when it was in power. Simusamba who however denied UPND plan of swallowing its fellow opposition party said it expected them to complain the least when its members and former MPs  are defecting to join the UPND.

The Deputy Chief Executive Officer who was speaking on Prime Television’s Oxygen of Democracy programme quoted the bible saying do unto others what you want them to do for you. He said the MMD in the last ten years won the election using UPND members who most of them were given Ministerial posts.

He has also denied  insinuations that his party wants to finish the MMD. Simusamba said such reports are coming from its enemies from a named Newspaper who are only dent at damaging its reputation. He wonders how the same paper would be speaking  good if MMD members join the ruling Patriotic Front while writing otherwise if they join the UPND.

And Alliance for Better Zambia (ABZ) President Father Frank Bwalya said there is nothing wrong in members of one political party going to join  the other. Fr. Bwalya said what the party need is to talk to their members to stop them from joining other parties.

Fr. Bwalya said the MPs joining the PF are doing that not on principle but rather to get the milk from them. He has since called on humility and togetherness from opposition political party as they try to fight the PF
