It’s not over – Renard

COACH Herve Renard says it’s not yet over for Zambia despite being held to a one-all draw with Ethiopia in a below-par show by the African champions.

The lackluster Zambia was held to a draw by a more enterprising Ethiopia who remained tactically superior to the Chipolopolo throughout the match.

Renard prayed that Zambian supporters would not abandon supporting the Chipolopolo who were far from being impressive in yesterday’s match.

The Frenchman took responsibility for Zambia’s poor show.

“The people of Zambia should continue to support us,” he told journalists in a post-match interview. “We are going to reach the quarter finals. The performance of today is my responsibility as coach. I saw the team in the first half didn’t play well and we didn’t play like we were ready for the Africa Cup of Nations.”

Renard, who admitted that Ethiopia was a better side, said the Chipolopolo were only saved from embarrassment by goalkeeper Kennedy Mweene.
