Immigration records warn and caution statements from Sunzu, Kalaba, Sinkala

TP Mazembe Zambian players Stopilla Sunzu, Rainford Kalaba and Nathan Sinkala were again questioned by Immigration Department in the city of Ndola on the Copperbelt.

The players who were accompanied by their lawyer Derrick Mulenga were quizzed for about six hours. This was the second interrogation after one on Friday and their passports remain in the custody of Immigration.

Mulenga said the Immigration from the Head Office will communicate to him by Wednesday on the next cause of action. He said the Immigration Officers have recorded warn and caution statements from the players.

The Immigration Department are investigation the tro for having crossed the boarder into Congo DR without going through formalities after the players refused to fly to China to join the rest of the team ahead of the Brazil International friendly match. The tro has however refuted charge saying there were in Zambia and never at any moment crossed the boarder.

The players missed TP Mazembe’s crucial CAF Confederations Cup match over the weekend against St. Malien which the DR Congo side won by a goal qualify to the final.

Meanwhile TP Mazembe owner Moses Katumbi who is also Katanga Governor has expressed concern on the investigations carried on his players.

But Football Association of Zambia says it is disappointed by what it described as unfortunate allegations and comments made by Katumbi concerning the three Zambian players whom his club blocked from attending an important international match last week.
