SLING BeatsSLING Beats, a leading media production house that has birthed the likes of K’Millian, General Ozzy and Kanji, among others, is tonight hosting what it is calling a Hope Night at Club LIV that will feature music, comedy and fashion.
The event at Diamonds of Lusaka is being held in partnership with the Miss Southern Africa – Zambia Sophie Chinkumbi and is aimed at raising funds to support and help the Chikumbutso Project for Widows and Underprivileged Children in Lusaka’s Ng’ombe township.
To that effect, it hopes to bring together influential people on a single night of entertainment to focus on a specific issue affecting society.
Sling Beats managing director Chali Mulalami told the Weekend Mail in Lusaka that the event is expected to attract a number of high-profile individuals and companies.
“Already we’ve had a number of people come through and pledge exercise books for the 400 pupils at the school. We’ve a number of people that have confirmed attendance and we really hope that we partner with a lot more on this one,” he said.
Apart from the crafts that yield handbags, necklaces, earrings, among others, that the women at the Chikumbutso Project make, they also run a community school from grade one to six for orphans and underprivileged children in the area.
“By supporting this good cause, companies and indeed individuals will be giving back to the community,” Chali says.
Officials from the Ministry of Education as well as those from the Ministry of Community Development are expected to attend while Towani Clarke is expected to showcase her designs with CQ expected to perform.
