Homosexual rights Activists want reward from PF

By Gaga Usenga

I have been asking myself this question, “where have the gay rights activists and homosexuals got the courage all of sudden to intensify their fight?”
When you check the history of Zambia there has never been a point in this country at which gay people became so active compared to this time.
Why now? What is it that has happened to this nation which has provided enough energy for this category of people to fight for these rights even harder?
Could it be linked to the entry of Patriotic Front into government? May be all those rumors before 2011 election that Michael Sata had gone to seek financial support for Campaign from Homosexuals and Pro-gay organisations in Europe were true? At that time we thought Chanda Chimba was just politicking, but with what we are seeing today, it is becoming clear that these gay activists are following what they were promised in exchange for the financial assistance provided.
There are some slices of resistance from the government officials for now, but it is just a matter of time as these gays have come for their compensation. The PF government is being held at ransom for the many promises made to different people including homosexuals. This is pay back-time and so homosexuals want their payments for funding Sata’s campaigns. No matter how many times they are arrested, they will never be stopped because they were also responsible for Sata’s ascendance into power.
Gay people and their activists’ never rested in providing financial support for PF and today they have come to be rewarded for their money which saw Sata coming to power.
Do you know why Gay rights will be accepted in Zambia this time? Do you know which church organisation indirectly supports gay rights? Do you know that this is the only church grouping which went flat-out campaigning for Patriotic Front in the 2011 general election?
That church is Catholic, the only church which has come out in open to support the rights of gays and lesbians. For instance, in 2011 the then Vatican City ambassador Archbishop Nicola Girasoli had stated that though homosexuality was wrong, according to the church doctrine, homosexuals were people and for that reason they deserved respect and consideration. He said, “The fact that the Catholic Church makes a distinction between the homosexual act and homosexual orientation or inclination is not promoting homosexuality.
Homosexuals are human beings with their problems and their joys, that as human beings they deserve respect, even though they have this inclination, and must not be discriminated against because of it.”
Again, according to National Catholic Reporter, December,2009 entitled, Gays deserve respect, compassion, Jesuit Fr. Federico Lombardi, Vatican spokesman said homosexuals “must be welcomed with respect and sensitivity, and ‘every sign of unjust discrimination in their regard should be avoided,’” he wrote, quoting the catechism.
So Catholics who became the biggest supporters of Michael Sata in 2011 general election are the same people who see no reason why gay rights must not be adopted in this World. At the same time some of Mr Sata’s campaign financiers from Denmark are Pro-gay who are now championing the rights of these homosexuals.
Finally, being in the church which supports adoption of gay rights and having been sponsored by Homosexuals from Europe, Mr.Sata will very soon bow down to that pressure of allowing gay to flourish in Zambia.
Lord Jesus, save us from this evil act.
