Hichilema Jump-Starts Sata’s Lapsing Memory

United Party for National Development (UPND) leader Hakainde Hichilema has taken President Michael Sata back to school with a brief lecture in political history on Zambia specifically over the last seven years.

President Sata, whether deliberate or as a result of natural memory lapses, wrote to Hichilema asking him to state if he had been elected at any level before the UPND leader’s correspondence highlighting the illegality of Chief Justice Lombe Chibesakunda could be entertained.

Hichilema has written back to President Sata.

According to Hichilema’s letter dated July 15, 2013, the UPND leader has expressed disappointment that President Sata opted to trivilise important issues. However, Hichilema took time to illustrate how he ascended to the UPND leadership.

“The office you hold is a public office and should therefore be accessible to all citizens regardless of whether those citizens were elected or not.
