HH challenges Police

The opposition United Party for National Development (UPND) has challenged the Zambia Police to tell the nation on what grounds UPND Deputy Secretary General, Kuchunga Simusamba, was arrested on Wednesday July 24,2013.
UPND President, Hakainde Hichilema, says the Patriotic Front (PF) government has turned the nation into a dictatorship where people have no rights to grievances.

He has told Q Fm in an interview that the PF needs to check itself before people can turn against them because of the way they are governing the nation.

Hichilema says every Zambian citizen has a right to petition on issues they feel are erroneous therefore, Simusamba did not break any law by petitioning the Acting Chief Justice Lombe Chibesakunda to step down.

Meanwhile, Hichilema has distanced his party from allegations by the government that it has been inciting students and people to protest against government.

Hichilema says the riots being witnessed in schools are a sign that people are tired of the PF deception.

He adds that time has come for the PF to pay for the sins they have committed against the Zambian people.
