Herve Renard thanks coaches and officials from local clubs

Zambia national team coach Herve Renard has thanked coaches and officials from local clubs for releasing players invited for national duty on time.

According to FAZ Renard said on Tuesday July 23,2013 that the part played by local clubs in winning the COSAFA Cup was too important to be ignored.

“The clubs have been very helpful in making their players available to the national team and I have no problems with selecting any player,” Renard said.

“Don’t forget that we used only locally based players and at times inviting players to the national team created big problems for their clubs. But it is a very good achievement for them to win a trophy like the COSAFA Cup.

“I am confident that even when I am not around in future many of these players will be able to play for the Chipolopolo,” he said.

Renard has retained the COSAFA Cup winning squad for the upcoming African Nations Championship (CHAN) qualifier against Botswana on Saturday.

The team has since regrouped in Lusaka ahead of the match which will be played in Gaborone at Molepolole Sports Complex Stadium with kickoff scheduled for 15:00hrs.

The return leg will be played at Mwanawasa Stadium in Ndola on Saturday, August 3.
