THE government says it will speed up the process of constructing basic infrastructure in the newly created districts countrywide.
Speaking when he paid a courtesy call on Lunga district commissioner Raphael Kauseni at his office, local government and housing deputy minister John Kufuna said the government would start with districts such as Lunga which had less or no basic development structures in place.
“We shall ensure that structures such as housing units are constructed as soon as possible so that our officers can move in and start executing official duties. Personally I have seen your commitment, you really want to move in and commence working. This is the spirit we want even other government officers to emulate then Zambia is going to develop at a fast rate,” he said.
Kufuna said the government was aware that without basic infrastructure in place, it was challenging for officers to operate efficiently.
