Government sends 18 nurses to Kabwe Hospital

Government has revealed that it has sent 18 nurses to the hospital in Kabwe the provincial capital of Zambia’s central province in an effort to reduce the nurse patient ratio at the institution.

Health Minister Joseph Katema said in an interview that the 18 included two midwives, eight general nurses, one psychiatric nurse, and six pediatric nurses.

The Minister said his government was committed to delivering quality health care to the people and it would continue devising way of improving health services to the people.

He also said plans were underway to upgrade the hospital to general hospital status in the near future.
