GERMAN ENERGY FIRMS EYE OPPORTUNITIES IN ZAMBIA

LUSAKA, — Some German investors have expressed interest to invest in the Zambian energy sector, says Zambian Ambassador to Germany Anthony Mukwita.

This is because the investors have recognized the efforts that the government is making to improve the energy sector, including the decision by President Edgar Lungu to remove energy subsidies, which has made the sector attractive for private investment and expansion.

Mukwita said in a statement received here Wednesday that it is for this reason that Zambia had been invited to attend the 12th German-African Energy Forum which will take place in Hamburg, Germany on April 24 and 25.

He added the meeting had attracted 4,000 national and international delegates and business representatives from the energy sector.
