Fr Bwalya eyeing presidency in 2016

FR FRANK Bwalya is positioning himself to run for Republican president in 2016 because he feels he can make a better president than Michael Sata, sources have revealed.

And Fr Bwalya says he will only state his position over the presidency after 34 days beginning yesterday.

The sources said Fr Bwalya, who recently resigned as Zesco board chairperson, had been confiding in some members of the civil society and other leaders, telling them about his ambitions and his desire to be president.

When asked, Fr Bwalya said: “Kombe, call me after 34 days. That is when I will be able to answer all those questions. I only had to come out yesterday (through a press statement and Muvi TV) to protect the integrity of those who employed me. I can’t respond now but after 34 days, ask me. If I want to be president, I will say ‘I want to be president’. After 34 days from today.”

The sources said Fr Bwalya wants to form his own political platform to help him get the presidency.
