Examination Council Changes Timetable

The Examinations Council of Zambia (ECZ) has changed the Examinations timetable for grades Sevens and Twelve.
ECZ Director Micheal Chilala said the revision has been done to allow the grade sevens and nine time to report to school in January 2014 together with pupils from all the grades. He said grade seven will start their exams on October 14 to and end on 18th October 2013, while the Grade twelve will start on 4th October and end on 8th November.
The ECZ Director has however disclosed that no change has been made with regards to grade nine examinations.
Chilala who was speaking at a media briefing in Lusaka on Thursday July 25,2013 also explained that the grade 12 results will be realeased before the end of January 2013 to allow them time to pursue tetiary education by applying to collages and Universities.
He said under the revised time table the grade 12 will also be starting their exams with theory papers and end with practicals. Chilala said this move has been taking in an effort to reduce examination malpractice.
Meanwhile the Examinations Council of Zambia has also introduced midyear GCE examinations which will be eefctive June 2013.
Chilala said the move has been taken due to increased demand for GCE exams.
