English is a barrier to many MPs says Mulongoti

Leader of the newly formed People’s Party (PP) Mike Mulongoti has observed that English language is a hindrance to effective contributions by Members of Parliament in the House.

Mulongoti who has served as Member of Parliament, Minister and at one time served as Chief Weep said many Members of Parliament are not able to effectively articulate using the country’s official language (English) in Parliament. He said some MPs being ‘stars’ from the constituencies they come from have not effectively contributed in Parliament.

The PP president says when voted into government, he will introduce Parliamentary Assemblies in provinces to address this problem and provide for effective representation.
