EGYPTAIR SIGNS DEAL WITH BOMBARDIER TO BUY 24 C-SERIES AIRCRAFT

CAIRO, Egypt, EgyptAir, the flag carrier airline of Egypt, has signed a letter of intent, for buying 24 CSeries aircraft, from the Canadian aircraft maker, Bombardier, for a total cost of nearly 2.2 billion u.s. dollars, EgyptAir said, in a statement.

“EgyptAir has signed a letter of intent for 12 CS300 aircraft, and will take options on a further 12,” the statement added.

The deal was inked at the ongoing Dubai Airshow.

Bombardier and EgyptAir said, they hoped to finalise the deal before the end of 2017, the statement added.

“We undertook a thorough evaluation process of our fleet, and realised that the CS300 would fit perfectly into our business plans and growth strategy,” EgyptAir’s chairman, Safwat Musallam, said.

He added that, the new partnership with Bombardier emphasised the future vision for the Middle East and Africa, and will fulfil the market demands.
