‘Dr’ Mugadza’s qualifications raise more controversy

LUSAKA resident Tinaye Mugadza’s qualifications continue to raise controversy as the Examinations Council of Zambia (ECZ) has denied ever verifying his Cambridge O Level results.

But Mugadza said he only presented his University of Cambridge results to ECZ for equating to the Zambia standard.

About two weeks ago, the Zambia Federation of Employers (ZFE) reported Mugadza to Lusaka Central police station after discovering that he had fake PhD and Master’s degrees in Economics.

In a letter to The Post dated January 25, 2013 and signed by ECZ information, education and communications specialist Ronald Tembo, the Council stated that it had no mandate to verify foreign results.

“I wish to clarify that the ECZ did not verify Dr Mugadza’s GCE results from the University of Cambridge, in collaboration with the Zimbabwe Ministry of Education and Culture, purported to have been obtained in November 1992.
