Zambia’s Football Association has announced that its National Team will not play Jordan on Wednesday November 6, 2013 in the Jordanian city of Amman.

FAZ says the date has been arrived at after consultations by all stakeholders. Yesterday FAZ announced that the International Friendly that was slated for November 2, 2013 this Sunday had been put off due to the crucial schedule of the local MTN sponsored Super league.

“However, after further consultations and looking at different options, we are pleased to announce that we are agreed to play Jordan on Wednesday 6th November in Amman,” said Erick Mwanza, the FAZ Communications Manager.

Caretaker Coach Patrice Beaumelle has since named a 26 man-squad comprising of local players that will face Jordan.

“The squad called will set the training camp in Lusaka on Sunday. We have made careful consideration of dates for this match so that we do not cause any disruption to the league in terms of player availability for their respective clubs as the season comes to a close and has many decisive matches related to the title race as well as relegation battles,” Mwanza told

He added: “But its also important that we continue with our policy of international matches because that is the way to the top and high levels of competitiveness. As such, all players named in the squad are required to report to the camp at the end of this weekend’s games; on Sunday 3rd November in Lusaka. They will be released to their respective clubs soon after our delegation returns from Jordan so that they can be available for the other weekend fixtures.”
