COSAFA Semi Finals: Zambia takes on South Africa

Zambia National Soccer Team will on Wednesday evening, July 17, 2013 take on South Africa in the COSAFA Senior challenge cup semi final match.

The game which will be played at the Levy Mwanawasa Stadium in Ndola will kick off at 20:00 hours.

The Chipolopolo who are favourite to lift the cup playing at home will be seeking its fourth title to match Zimbabwe who has won it a record 4th time followed by Zambia and Angola with three times each while South Africa who plays Zambia on Wednesday has also won it three times.

Zambia will also seek to revenge a lose suffered at the hands of South Africa in 2008 under the same coach, Herve Renard. The Zambian coach is likely to start with the same team that started against Mozambique on Sunday in the quarter final.

South Africa and Zambia who joined the competition at the quarter final stage beat Namibia and Mozambique 2-1 and 3-1 respectively to advance to this stage.

The other semi final match which will kick off at 17 hours at the same Levy Mwanawasa stadium involving Lesotho and Zimbabwe. Zimbabwe beat Malawi while Lesotho put up a surprise by beating one of the favourite Angola to advance to this stage.
