COSAFA Cup Tournament kicks off in Zambia

All is set for this year’s edition of the COSAFA cup Senior Challenge which kicks off in Lusaka on Saturday July 6.

13 teams are taking part in the regional tournament after the withdraw of Equatorial Guninea with Kenya coming as a guest team.

The games will be played across three towns, Kitwe, Ndola, and Lusaka with Sports Minister Chishimba Kambwili assuring the nation that Zambia is ready to host the tournament which comes back after missing since 2009.

Namibia and Mauritius will open the games at Nkholoma stadium  in Lusaka which is the venue for the official opening.

Host Zambia who entered camp in Lusaka will however join the tournament in the quarter final stage together with South Africa, Mozambique, Malawi, Angola, South Africa and defending champions Zimbabwe.
