Chipolopolo still a threat – Nigeria

NATIONAL team captain Christopher Katongo has asked for support from Zambians as the Chipolopolo prepare to meet Nigeria this Friday.

And Super Eagles captain Joseph Yobo says the Chipolopolo remain a threat despite their stuttering 1-all draw against Ethiopia in the opening game of the 2013 AfCON.

Katongo said Zambia will “wear a different jacket” in the next match to avoid a repeat of the dismal show in the Ethiopia game and save itself from a first round exit.

He said Zambia would focus on the game against Nigeria which the African Champions are taking seriously.

“It Ethiopia game was tough but we will qualify to the quarterfinals,” said Katongo. “We have remained with two games so we will make sure we collect maximum points. We will wear a different jacket in the next game. We are ready against Nigeria, people should not judge us based on one game; this is not the result we wanted but what we are asking is for the nation’s support.
