Chinyemba bemoans low calibre of pupils in WP

MONGU Diocese Bishop Evans Chinyemba says only concerted and dedicated efforts can reverse the falling education standards in Western Province.

And UPND leader Hakainde Hichilema says the country will soon pay a heavy price for failing to place a premium on its education sector.

But Alliance for Democracy and Development leader Charles Milupi says ordinary citizens should express a clearer unity of purpose when it comes to issues bordering on educational development.

During a fundraising braii organised by the Ex-St John’s Secondary School Students Association held at the residence of the Mongu-based school’s first headboy, Dominic Mbangu, in Lusaka West on Sunday, Bishop Chinyemba said pupils being churned out into higher grades in the province were of low calibre.

“This is time to come together and share memories of St John’s Secondary School,” Bishop Chinyemba said.
