Celebrity Life: Saboi Testifies against Hubby’s Fraud

University of Zambia Zambia lecturer cum-musician Saboi Imboela today testified against her celebrity husband Owas Ray Mwape on a charge of forgery.

Saboi, who was of the popular music duet dubbed Shatel, dragged her husband to court who is a household name in showbiz for allegedly forging her signature to change ownership of the car.

Saboi testified that on August 28 in 2012 whilst she was away on studies the car, a Nissan Ebon she had purchased from Japan, arrived and her husband forged her signature to change ownership.

The 35-year old said the agent who cleared the car also confirmed that Mwape forged the signature. The duo have had a turbulent marriage life as this is not the first time Saboi and her husband are in public domain for wrong reasons.

In 2009, Saboi offered a story to the BBC revealing how she was badly beaten by her husband and hoped to lift the lid on the country’s ingrained acceptance of domestic violence.
