CCZ urges social justice advocacy

COUNCIL of Churches in Zambia vice chairperson Muzyombo Namuyamba says the absence of social justice advocacy can lead to disorder in communities.

Namuyamba, however, cautioned that advocacy could cause negative results if not properly handled.

”The absence of advocacy brings disorder, chaos and can threaten peace and harmony. However allow me to sound a word of caution that advocacy if not well handled can bring negative results and bear in mind that whatever you do, you are doing it on behalf and for the benefit of the communities,” he said on Wednesday at Brethren in Christ Church in Siavonga when he officially closed a three-day advocacy workshop for various stakeholders, among them pastors, in the district.

Namuyamba said the advantages of advocacy were that community challenges could be analysed with stakeholders for lobbying to the relevant authorities.
