BIGOCA attack Ring leader fails to appear, Court orders his arrest

A Lusaka Magistrate on Monday issued a bench warrant against the ring leader in the brutal attack case of members at BIGOCA church in Matero recently.

This is in an assault case where thugs suspected to be from the ruling Patriotic Front – PF party attacked a group of Civil Society and Church who had convened for a prayer protest dubbed Black Friday campaign against the removal of subsidies by PF government.

Magistrate Alice Walusiku ordered that Heita Bwalya 27, of Lusaka’s Matero Township be arrested and brought to court on July 11, 2013 after he failed to appear before the court for trial today.

Bwalya is under police bond.

The key witnesses in the case include Foundation for Democratic Process (FODEP) Executive Director MacDonald Chipenzi and former Church of God overseer Bishop John Mambo who were among those brutalized by the cadres, reports QFM, a Lusaka private owned radio station.
