Former President Rupiah Banda has consoled his successor Michael Sata on the death of his Minister of Information and Broadcasting Services Kennedy Sakeni.

Banda in his condolences message wished President Sata strength to withstand the death of Sakeni who was also the ruling PF Member of Parliament for Mansa Central and Chief Government spokesperson.

“Having served in your position before, I know how it feels to lose a dedicated member of your party and Cabinet, and it is my prayer that the almighty God grant you the strength to go through this difficult period,” stated president Banda in his letter.

He has also asked President Sata to convey his condolences to the Sakeni family.

Sakeni who died last week leaves behind a wife and thirteen children. He will be put to rest on Tuesday and President Sata has declared three-days of national mourning starting today.
