Arrested Zimbabwean Prostitutes In Livingstone Deported

A combined team of Imigration Officials and the Zambia Police has arrested 38 Women in Livinstone for engaging in prostitution.
Immigration Department Public Relations Officer, Namati Nshinka said the 38 arrested include 24 Zambian and 14 Zimbabwean women.
The prostitutes were apprehended in a joint operation by the Immigrations and Police.
Namati Nshinka said in a statement that 14 Zimbabwean women have since been deported to their country. He said the case involving 24 Zambian women has been handled over to the Zambia police.
The department early this montth (July) also arrsted 33 foreign naionals mainly Zimbabwean for enaging themselves in suspected prostitution act in Lusaka.
Nshika also disclosed that the Magistrates Curt in Ndola has convicted and sentenced a Somali woman to a fine of 4000 Kwacha or in default 6 Months simple imprisonment for forging a British passport.
This was in a case where Fosiya Osman Awale was intercepted at Simon Mwansa Kapwepwe Airport by immigration officers who found her in possession of a stolen British passport as she attempted to leave the country.
Nshinla says three Mali nationals were refused entry into Zambia via Ndola for being in possession of fake Kenyan passports.
The trio is currently in detention and will be deported soon.
