AOUN MEETS WITH FORMER MINISTER OF FOREIGN AFFAIRS OF SPAIN

President Michel Aoun received at Baabda Palace on Monday the former Minister of Foreign Affairs of Spain, Miguel ?ngel Moratinos, and Jean-Louis Guigou President of Ipemed, the Mediterranean World Economic Foresight Institute.

The meeting was attended by Ambassador of Spain in Lebanon, Milagros Hernando.

Moratinos relayed to Aoun the activities carried out by the institute to face socio-economic challenges in the Middle East. He also revealed that contacts were ongoing to launch an initiative for an Africa – Mediterranean – Europe (AME) project that works on bolstering communication between countries, with Brussels as its headquarters. The former Foreign Minister asserted that the project would have an office in many countries, including Lebanon. The Ipemed program would hold developmental programs in member countries.

Aoun lauded the initiative, confirming that Lebanon supported all cooperative efforts that brought good to Mediterranean countries.
