Another by-election amid fuel hikes, MMD Kafulafuta MP joins PF

Kafulafuta MMD Member of Parliament James Chishiba has resigned to join the rulling Patriotic Front bearly two days after his counterpart in Solwezi East dished the former ruling party.

This means another by-election which will cost the country billions of kwacha will have to be held within three months in Ndola rural on the Copperbelt province. This is coming amid hikes in fuel and electricity tariffs. Zambia has been having at least a by-election one in four months following the defection of MMD Members of Parliament to PF.

In June the country will have a by-election in Feira after the MP for the area Patrick Ngoma resigned to join PF.
