AFCON: Zambian Team promised US$ 90, 000 per player

The Zambian government has promised to give 90, 000 US dollars to each player if the team retains the trophy at the ongoing Africa Cup of Nations – AFCON in South Africa. The government has also pledged 20, 000 US dollars to each player if the team goes upto the finals.

The promise was announced by Sports Minister Chishimba Kambwili who is currently in South Africa with President Michael Sata. President Sata has also visited the Chipolopolo Boys in South Africa and offered his support to the team.

He urged the Chipolopolo Boys to retain the cup and prove that it was the best team in Africa. The Chipolopolo Boys in Group C with Ethiopia, Nigeria and Bukinafaso begin their campaign on January 21st January when they play Ethiopia.
