AFCON kicks off as Little known Cape Verde holds South Africa

Soccer cityBad starting for the host South Africa at the AFCON 2013 as they are held to a 0 – 0 with little known Cape Verde who are making their first appearance at the Africa biggest soccer tournament.

South Africa playing before an audience of 90 000 fans started on a good note showing serious moves but were later held as the visitors consolidated. Cape Verde however also had many chances which they failed to utilize.

The results is a boast beginning for Cape Verde who celebrated the results at the end of 90 minutes. The match played at Sun City stadium was not so interesting as anticipated.
