Acting President Edgar Lungu has reversed the suspension of export of maize and maize products announced last Friday by Agriculture Minister Bob Schinga.

Lungu who is also Home Affairs Minister announced the development in Lusaka today, April 8, 2013. He explained at a Media briefing that some countries in the region were facing diversity of the commodity.

The Acting President instructed the Permanent Secretary to consult and find a better way of handling the matter.

This development shows lack of coordination among government leaders in the PF. It has now come out that the Minister of Agriculture without consultations made such a serious directive.
