2013 MTN FAZ Champions to be decided Saturday

By Chimuka Moono Hanyama

Soccer is always difficult to predict. Sometimes, the so called underdogs go away with results while the strong teams remain moaning.

With the ending of the 2013 MTN FAZ Super League on Saturday 16th November, today’s matches had stunning endings.

Nchanga Rangers failed to beat Konkola Blades in a match which was played at Konkola Stadium by losing 2 – 0. The reigning champions Zanaco were also humbled by Zesco United. Nkana played a 1 – 1 draw against Power Dynamos.

The results for the three top placed teams mean that Nkana lead the standings with 56 points and are closely trailed by Zesco United who have 54 points. Nchanga Rangers in third have 51 points.

This means that Nkana will win the league if they manage to beat Red Arrows at home, or if Zesco United lose to Nchanga Rangers. Alternatively, Zesco United will win the the league if they defeat Nchanga Rangers and Nkana fail to defeat Red Arrows.

It is indeed a seasaw between the two teams.

Meanwhile, the battle to survive relegation for Napsa Stars (36 points), Konkola Mine Police (35 points), and Nkwazi (33 points) will go down to the wire.

Here are the full results for the games played today.
